The American Horse School Board and Administration has taken a second look at the academic needs of the students in the Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
these students have had limited if any time in a structured classroom.
To ensure that our students are receiving the academic and social skills that they need to successfully learn to read, write, and develop math skills, it has been determined that all students enrolling in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will be required to attend
the hybrid format.
They will be placed in Group A or Group B, and will be onsite 2 days a week and online (remote learning) for 3 days a week. Schedules will be sent out.
Students enrolling in our Kindergarten 1 have never been in school, students enrolling in our Kindergarten 2 have only been on distant/remote learning due to the pandemic, 1st graders
were on sight in Kindergarten 1 (from September-March 10 th 2020) and then online, and 2nd graders attended Kindergarten 1 & Kindergarten 2 (from September- March 10th ) and 1st Grade on line.

The COVID - 19 Delta Variant is on the rise in the United States. After careful consideration, the American Horse School Board has decided to once again "CLOSE" all of the AHS Facilities, to the general public, for use. This means "NO" Building used for wakes, funerals, or any other type of gatherings will be held at AHS until further notice. This closure id for the safety of our Staff and Students, as this is our number 1 priority. The rising numbers of COVID - 19 Delta Variant are the cause for our closing down the facilities from today, July 22, 2021, until further notice.
Please watch the American Horse School Webpage and Facebook for any new updates. Thank You for your help and understanding with dealing with the COVID - 19 Delta Variant Pandemic.

Dear Parents and Caregivers of Soon to be American Horse School Students,
PLEASE GET YOUR CHILDREN REGISTERED SO THEY WILL BE SURE TO RECEIVE THEIR COMPUTERS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES ON TIME.
American Horse School will be beginning its school year with a Hybrid Model.
All students will attend school on scheduled days and be at home distance learning on the days they are not at school. All reservation schools are currently doing a hybrid model following the OST Tribal Ordinances concerning information from the OST COVID Task Force.
Classrooms will hold 10 students and 2 adults. Students will be placed into groups. One week Group A Students will attend school on Monday and Tuesday from 8am to 3:30 pm, and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the students will be at home with distance learning. The next week Group A Students will be in school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00-3:30 and on Thursday and Friday the students will be at home with distance learning. Only half of the students will be on site at the school at a time.
We have masks, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and to social distance: plastic shields for tables and desks, stickers on the floors, and even hula hoops to help the younger ones stay a safe distance away from each other.
Students will begin classes on September 7th. We will provide you with a schedule to let you know the days your child(ren) will be on site and working from home.
We will begin delivering computers, hotspots, and school supplies on the 30th of August.
We can only have 20 students per classroom, as only 10 students can be in a classroom at a time. Some of the grade levels will have more than one classroom. Right now, we have three grade levels that will be limited to 20 students- Our first year Kindergarten, our second year Kindergarten and our 8th grade class.
Enrollment Packets are available at all local CAP Offices and at American Horse School. You can drive up to the school give us a call and we will bring you out a packet or you can give us your completed packet. Any enrollment questions please give Alicia a call at school 455-1209.
